It was during a gala dinner chaired on November 9 by the Minister of Economy and Finance of Cambodia Pan Sorasak that MM Hym Piseth, Thoeun Techmeng and Ms. Sang Sophea received on behalf of Confirel and Dr. Hay Ly Eang, its founder, the Asean Business Award 2022, intended to reward local companies for their contribution to the economic growth and prosperity of the countries of the l regional entity.
The presentation of these 2022 ABAs took place within the framework of the ASEAN Summit on Business and Investment which was held on the sidelines of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits under the chairmanship of Cambodia.
Themed “Addressing Challenges Together”, Investment Summit is Southeast Asia’s premier annual forum bringing together presidents and prime ministers as well as business and the opinion leaders of ASEAN and its partners. This summit is intended to be an important platform for the business community to hear directly from business leaders and decision makers on how to address key issues facing Southeast Asia.
“Southeast Asia is indeed going through a difficult period. Growing geopolitical tensions, coupled with the impact of the war in Ukraine, at a time when Southeast Asian economies are still struggling to get back on their feet and recover from the pandemic, demand a united response from the ASEAN. It is imperative that we come together not only to address these challenges, but also to prepare for a shared, increasingly digital, integrated future in a way that meets both our economic growth needs and our commitments in terms of climate change”, specifies a press release from the organizers. Receiving this award in such a setting is an honor and a tremendous encouragement for Confirel.
